Competition persisted for Fayth Jeffrey and Tristan Dorville at the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships held at Romania's Otopeni Olympic Aquatics Complex on Thursday and Friday. Dorville contested the men's 50m freestyle and butterfly events, ending up in 35th and 44th positions overall. The soon-to-be Virginia Tech freshman recorded a time of 23.49 seconds in the freestyle and 25.33 seconds in the butterfly. His freestyle performance was merely a hundredth of a second shy of his personal best, which secured him bronze at this year's CARIFTA Aquatics Championship in Trinidad & Tobago.Dorville swam in Heat 9, Lane 6 for the butterfly, finishing eighth in his heat, while in Heat 10, Lane 8 for the freestyle, he claimed second in his heat. Jeffrey faced the 100m breaststroke, competing in Heat 4, Lane 6, finishing seventh with a time of 1:22.47, placing her 52nd overall. The duo will return to the pool Saturday: Dorville in the men’s 100m freestyle and Jeffrey in the women’s 50m freestyle.
