The IMAX theatre in the Indiana State Museum is offering Hoosiers the chance to watch never-before-seen films in IMAX this summer through their A24 and IMAX Indy Presents film series.
The IMAX x A24 film series, a partnership combining the big screen and the independent, indie producers, provides a unique opportunity for the fan-favorite A24 films to be seen on Indiana’s largest movie screen.
“We have been lucky enough to participate (in the film series),” said Neale Johantgen, IMAX theatre manager. “These are films you don’t typically see in IMAX.”
June saw two showings of the psychological thriller “Midsommar,” a colorful film that highlighted A24’s artsy style. IMAX is set to play the following A24 movies to continue the series:
July 16: “Oasis: Supersonic”
August 27: “Everything Everywhere All at Once”
“I think our presentation quality lends itself very well to more independent films,” Johantgen said. “It’s just a very cool way to see these films.”
In addition to the artsier, niche films displayed by the A24 film series, IMAX will also be continuing their first full year of the Classic Film Series.
