Dr. Tammi McMillan, Ed.D., proudly accepted her “Women of Excellence” award from the New Pittsburgh Courier, celebrating her accomplishments as part of the Class of 2021. In 2023, she was honored with an Onyx Woman Leadership Award for her role as the director of The Power of One Teacher Diversification Program at Carlow University. Recently, Dr. McMillan has returned to her roots, taking on the position of Vice President and Chief Program Officer at Hosanna House Inc., as reported by the Courier. Established in the early 1990s on Wallace Avenue in Wilkinsburg, the Hosanna House aims to eradicate poverty and enable families to achieve their fullest potential. Having dedicated 21 years there, Dr. McMillan previously elevated educational programs to NAEYC accreditation, launched a PDE-licensed kindergarten, and secured Pre-K funding. In 2022, she completed a rigorous leadership training program and authored “Sunni Rae’s World: What Are Your Superpowers?”, promoting self-empowerment in children. She will now oversee key programmatic areas impacting around 40,000 individuals annually. CEO Leon Haynes praised her passion and expertise, emphasizing her pivotal role in driving innovation.
