The 27-year-old player faced significant injury challenges, participating in only 23 games and making just one start over the last two seasons. He struggled through the 2023-24 season with an ACL injury, then missed a considerable part of the 2024-25 season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon. When on the court, he showcased his skill with a shooting percentage of 50.8%, averaging 6.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Despite his unfortunate injury record, Smith remains committed to the Heat. His journey began in the NBA summer league after going undrafted from Missouri in 2021. Over his initial years, he frequently moved between the Heat and their G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
