At 1:45 a.m. last week, Thomas Simpson stepped from his garage armed to confront what he assumed were intruders, only to discover they were police officers. Upon realizing this, he dropped his weapon, yet officers fired multiple shots, striking him once in the leg. Fortunately, he is recuperating.Face-to-face with fear for his family, Simpson noted that stray bullets struck his home, causing concern for his wife and children. Following the shooting, police detained his family for four hours. The Grand Prairie Police, who responded to a disturbance at the incorrect address, are now seeking to charge Simpson with aggravated assault, despite his non-aggressive stance.
