Tragic End for Former Cardinals Offensive Lineman Luis Sharpe: A Life Marked by Struggles and Survival

Luis Sharpe, the former NFL standout, has sadly passed away at the age of 65 after a tumultuous life that included four incarcerations and surviving multiple gunshot wounds. Sharpe, known for his remarkable prowess as a left tackle, was a cornerstone of the Arizona Cardinals' offensive line for over a decade and is celebrated as one of the franchise's greatest linemen. A three-time Pro Bowler, his entire 13-season career was spent with the Cardinals, during which he started in all 189 games he played. Originally from Havana, Cuba, Sharpe grew up in Detroit and eventually attended UCLA, where his outstanding performances led to his selection as a first-round draft pick in 1982. Despite his struggles with addiction post-retirement, he found redemption through faith and sobriety over the past eight years, committing to aid others.
