The family of Christian Black, a 25-year-old Ohio man who died two days after a violent restraint in Montgomery County Jail, is demanding murder charges against the jail staff involved. Arrested on March 24, Black appeared agitated in his cell before at least 10 deputies entered, deployed stun guns, and forcibly placed him in a safety restraint chair. Footage shows Black screaming “Shoot me” during what his family believes was a crisis brought on by excessive force. Though the family says he had no history of mental illness, attorney Michael Wright argues the officers’ actions triggered his mental collapse. Black later died in the hospital. The disturbing video has sparked national outrage and renewed calls for jail reform, mental health protocols, and accountability in law enforcement.
