Relatives of Clement Gustave say they are relieved and eternally grateful for the public’s assistance in finding the 92-year-old who was returned home on Tuesday, four days after he went missing.
St. Lucia Times was informed that Gustave was found by a farmer in a bushy area near Blanchard, Micoud, not far from his Gomier, Blanchard home. He had been reported missing around 9 p.m. on Friday, December 13.
Gustave, who suffers from dementia, is currently receiving treatment at a medical facility. He reportedly has no recollection of the past four days.
Imagining the distress the elderly Gustave may have endured during that period, a relative told St. Lucia Times he was grateful he was returned home safely.
“While we were looking for him on Sunday, I was really hungry, so I could imagine…. I keep saying, ‘Wah if I so hungry, then I can imagine for him’.
“I’m really thankful that they found him because can you imagine your old man just somewhere in a bush suffering and hasn’t eaten?”
