Former Indianapolis Colt Marlin Jackson’s Fight for Life Foundation provided toys and pizza parties to nearly 2,000 students from six Indy schools.& The Be a Blessing holiday program brought unwrapped toys and pizza to schools on Dec. 17. Frederick Douglass School 19, Sankofa School of Success at Arlington Woods, several Phalen Leadership Academy Schools and Charles W. Fairbanks School 105 participated in the program.& Jackson’s Be a Blessing Program provides resources for teachers, parents and students in the community. (Photo/Fight for Life Foundation) All the schools participating are implementing Fight for Life’s Foundation Building Dreams platform, a school-wide program that helps youth serving organizations build relationships and monitor social emotional needs and behavior. Students use the software to express needs, set goals, help with decision making and build health and wellness habits.& The Be a Blessing program provides resources and support to students, families and educators utilizing the platform. Sankofa School of Success at Arlington Woods and Frederick Douglass School #19 earned an expanded holiday party, featuring a live DJ, story time, arts and crafts and more.& The Fight for Life Foundation has partnered with the Colts’ Kicking the Stigma Action Grant to help educator’s with their mental health.
