Firearm, 52 Rounds Of Ammunition Recovered In Bruceville

On Sunday, June 9, 2024, the Vieux-Fort Police Station, and the Tactical Response Unit conducted an operation within the Community of Bruceville Vieux Fort, which resulted in one (1) arrest, and the recovery of several rounds of ammunition. The officers of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force embarked on this operation with the specific aim of reducing the prevalence of illicit firearms and ammunition on the streets of Vieux Fort. As a consequence, the home of a forty-three-year-old (43) Bruceville resident was searched. The officers recovered one (1) 9mm pistol, four (4) magazines and fifty-two (52) rounds of ammunition, in a nearby area. During preliminary investigations, the forty-three-year-old resident was detained for questioning in relation to the discovery. He was subsequently released pending investigations into other lines of inquiry. The RSLPF applauds the endeavours of its officers and reasserts our commitment to creating safer communities.
