Austin’s acclaimed Mission Burger Co. marked the grand opening of its inaugural Atlanta location on Thursday, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony and complimentary tastings of its popular vegan offerings. Situated at 2065 Defoors Ferry Rd NW, co-founder Isaac Mogannam expressed enthusiasm about introducing a diner atmosphere to Atlanta's plant-based scene. “Atlanta has always been on our radar, known for its welcoming attitude toward veganism. With pioneers like Slutty Vegan here, it felt inevitable,” Mogannam noted. Founded in 2023 alongside Michael Limongelli, the restaurant focuses exclusively on 100% plant-based comfort cuisine. The innovative menu includes vegan adaptations of classic dishes such as burgers, crunch wraps, and turkey sandwiches, alongside Atlanta-inspired specialties like wet lemon pepper chicken nuggets. Mogannam described their mission as creating “vegan food for meat lovers,” allowing guests to relish familiar flavors without realizing they are plant-based. Mayor Andre Dickens honored the event, highlighting its significance in fostering eco-conscious dining in the city.
