Four Black Professionals Appointed to Administrative Leadership Positions

Lydia Sermons has been appointed vice president and chief communications office at Howard University in the District of Columbia. She has served as vice president of strategic communications and marketing at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, for the past two years. Sermons holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in broadcast journalism and public affairs from American University in the District of Columbia. Robert Jackson has been named associate vice president for principal gifts at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He most recently served as assistant vice president of development for principal gifts at Pennsylvania State University. Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Virginia Tech. David Robinson-Morris has been named the inaugural executive director of the Institute for Black Intellectual and Cultural Life at Dartmouth College. His previous experience in higher education includes serving as assistant vice president of development, founding director of the Center for Equity, Justice, and the Human Spirit, and assistant professor in the Division of Education and Counseling at Xavier University in Louisiana.
