Free Cooling: Operation Fan Heat Relief Delivers Free Fans to Qualified Residents

On Monday, May 5, the Forsyth County Department of Social Services will offer electric fans to eligible residents through Operation Fan Heat Relief (OFHR). Residents must be 60 or older, or adults with disabilities, facing health risks due to high temperatures. Last summer, there were 4,688 heat-related visits, affecting vulnerable groups disproportionately. Older adults and individuals with chronic conditions are particularly at risk.
