As schools throughout Ohio get ready to welcome students back this fall, the American Lung Association emphasizes the importance of recognizing asthma's dangers for both parents and school healthcare providers.In Ohio, over 163,000 children are currently diagnosed with asthma, but with appropriate support, they can lead productive lives. Thanks to the generous backing from the Reid Wiley Charitable Foundation, the American Lung Association is offering complimentary resources to school-based health professionals and families, such as an Asthma Flipchart, the Back-to-School Backpack initiative, and more.The Reid Wiley Charitable Foundation, established by Glenn and Mary Wiley following their son Reid's tragic passing due to asthma complications in December 2020, aims to spread awareness.
