Jim Carrey has officially sold his longtime Brentwood estate, parting with the 2-acre property for $17 million after an extensive two-year listing. Carrey acquired the expansive 11,000-square-foot mansion in 1994 for $3.8 million following his meteoric rise to fame with hits like "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective," "The Mask," and "Dumb and Dumber." His box-office prowess continued with projects such as “Liar Liar” and “The Truman Show.”The luxurious estate features five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and six fireplaces. After nearly three decades, the home has switched ownership, as reported by The New York Post. Agents Sam Collins, David Parnes, and James Harris, who represented the buyer, have not disclosed the new owner's identity. The listing highlighted an art deco theater, a serene yoga platform nestled among treetops, and impressive outdoor features including a tennis court and multiple pools. Despite its appeal, the mansion struggled to attract buyers, ultimately selling for 41% less than its original asking price of $28.9 million.
