From such a lofty spot, I witnessed the synchronized movement of the 12th Man, the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band’s meticulous formations, and the palpable enthusiasm of tens of thousands of students shouting in unison.Fast forward three decades, and my view on game day has evolved, though my core mission remains unchanged. Now, as chancellor of The Texas A&M University System, I observe from the chancellor’s suite—improving views, cushioned seats, and climate control during the sweltering September heat.Observing from above, I don't merely see a football field; I see a network comprising 12 universities, a health science center, and agencies focused on public service, with over 175,000 students representing our collective mission and future.
