The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has announced that Acting Commissioner of Police Verne Garde proceeded on vacation leave effective Wednesday, January 15, 2025until Friday, February 7, 2025.
“During this time, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Wayne Charlery will oversee the responsibilities of the RSLPF,” the announcement said.
It assured all citizens and visitors that the operations and functions of the force would continue seamlessly under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner.
In addition, the RSLPF announcement acknowledged Commissioner Garde’s leadership and wished him well during his leave.
It said the RSLPF remains committed to serving and protecting the people of Saint Lucia with professionalism and integrity.
Verne Garde, whose six-month contract commenced in September last year, succeeded Saint Lucia’s female Police Commissioner, Crusita Descartes-Pelius.
At his first news conference, he sent a tough message to criminals that he would not allow individuals in conflict with the law to overrun Saint Lucia.
