United Airlines Faces Lawsuit Over Allegations of Racism, Retaliation, and Cover-Up by Black Employee at Denver International Airport

A former Black employee of United Airlines, Amir Brown, has filed a lawsuit against the airline, alleging systemic racism and harassment at its Denver International Airport hub that was allegedly concealed and ignored. Brown recounts a disturbing incident where a white supervisor, known as “Fast Eddie,” directed another Black worker to “go fetch” a noose. Although “Fast Eddie” was dismissed, the airline failed to investigate this racist incident or address another case involving a coworker using a racial slur. Brown asserts that the company's handling of such matters reflects a troubling culture at United. He highlights an ongoing pattern of discrimination, noting that people who speak out about bias often face retaliation. His own job termination followed a hostile work environment where coworkers conspired against him. Legal counsel Genevieve Mesch emphasized that United has ignored prevalent anti-Black racism. Brown seeks damages for the discrimination he endured throughout his employment, reflecting a deeper systemic issue within the airline.
