Graffiti-style art show and block party are coming soon to this town in West Jefferson

Don’t go looking for pasta and marinara sauce. The Spaghetti Social Art Show is all about graffiti-style painting and partying in old Westwego.
As anyone who attended a similar event on Sala Avenue in April 2023 can tell you, it’s a very cool experience in a charming, unexpected locale, far beyond the usual New Orleans art districts.
Once again, the man behind the event is Westwego native Josh Wingerter, who became a graffiti hero when he blanketed Frenchmen Street with stencil murals at the start of the coronavirus lockdown. Wingerter’s outdoor exhibit was a big hit during the era of social distancing.
Wingerter won’t be alone. He’ll be joined by his usual art collaborators Dago and Paco, plus New Orleans’ first-generation graffiti master Lionel Milton.
The artistic centerpiece will be a small Sala Street house converted into an enveloping art environment.
