Health officials have reported a successful start to operations at the Dr. Betty Wells Urban Polyclinic, which opened on Monday.
Despite initial concerns regarding a leaky roof in the waiting area – an issue that Minister of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs Moses Jn Baptiste confirmed would be addressed – the ministry stated in a release on Thursday that the transition of medical services from the Castries Wellness Centre to the new polyclinic has been “smooth and efficient.”
Senior Medical Officer for Medical and Urgent Care at the polyclinic, Dr. Delphina Vernor, expressed satisfaction with the facility’s operations so far.

Recognising the inadequacy of that setup to accommodate all patients in the Castries basin, we are very happy to officially welcome patients to this new facility,” she said.
