Hendog, an anonymous graffiti artist, has painted a little girl in a school uniform writing on a chalkboard, surrounded by references from a number of famous artists on the side of Proteus Creation Space. The artist posted an image of the mural on their Instagram page, Hendog, captioned ‘Crime and Punishment’ on Wednesday, July 17. Keith Haring, a graffiti artist and activist famous for his animated imagery, is also referenced in the artwork as the yellow outline of a man can be seen. The red love heart balloon on the mural draws reference to Banksy’s ‘Balloon Girl’ series, which depicts a girl trying to grab the object before the wind carries it away.  The chalkboard, and the ‘El Barto’ tag on the mural, are likely drawn from the American sitcom The Simpsons, as the character Bart Simpson has a graffiti-tagging alter-ego known as ‘El Barto’.
