A body discovered behind a concealed attic entrance has been identified as 28-year-old Renia Lewis, a Black woman who vanished in Vallejo, California, on September 28. Through collaboration with the FBI and support from Lewis’ family, detectives unearthed her remains, reportedly dismembered and concealed behind a wall at the residence of 41-year-old Douglas Irwin Shaw, whose living conditions resemble that of a hoarder. The dilapidated home was last known to be Lewis' location; her mother, Teri Lewis, utilized the Life360 tracking app to monitor her. Local reports reveal that upon failing to contact her daughter, Teri initiated a search in Shaw's vicinity. The police later retrieved her phone from a nearby school roof, escalating the investigation.Shaw allegedly confessed to the murder while in custody, leading to his booking in a Solano County jail. Vallejo Police expressed gratitude for the FBI’s involvement, essential in uncovering Lewis’ tragic fate amidst community outrage.
