Holiday Cheer For Children: FCCA, Tourism Ministry Spread Joy

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Tourism and the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), brought festive cheer to Saint Lucia’s children with the return of the FCCA Holiday Gift Project. The initiative, which hadn’t happened in five years because of the COVID-19 pandemic, made a joyful return this year, bringing big smiles to the children’s faces. Samantha Charles from the Ministry of Tourism told us more: “This year, we partnered with the FCCA and the Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association to host a Christmas party for children aged five to eleven from schools across the island, including Ciceron Combined, Lady Gordon Combined, Ave Maria Primary, Marchand Primary, Camille Henry Primary, and La Guerre Primary, among others. About 200 gifts, tailored to the children’s ages and genders, were delivered by Santa Claus and crew members from the Enchanted Princess vessel, docked at the port today.” While the event primarily focused on gift distribution, there’s hope to expand its offerings in future years to include additional child-friendly activities.
