(Special to The Dallas Examiner) – The Home Improvement and Preservation Major Systems Repair Program provides home repair assistance up to $24,000 in the form of a forgivable loan to eligible households for major systems repair. This can include things like replacing an HVAC system, electrical work, plumbing repairs, accessibility repairs and more.The program is open to single-family property owners residing in the city of Dallas whose household income is at or below 80% of the Area Median Income.Leading up to applications opening, Housing Department staff will host engagement workshops to help residents complete their applications. Workshops have begun and will continue across the city through Aug. 16. Events are available all across the city, in English and Spanish, virtually and in person.
