A close relative of Saint Lucia’s latest homicide victim has told reporters that in the wee hours of Monday morning, bandits claiming to be police officers gunned down Keston Dilaire.
“I just hear bam, bam, bam on the door ‘Police. Everybody flat down,'” the relative stated.
She said the individuals who came to the home at Fond Assau, Babonneau, wore camouflage clothing and shot Delaire multiple times.
According to reports, they discharged rounds into the air as they left the scene of their crime.
The deceased, who had survived two previous shootings, died at the scene.
The relative, describing Delaire as very helpful, had a message for the killers.
“I leave a coffin for them – Rambally, Crick, Lazarus,” she told reporters.
So far for the year, Saint Lucia has recorded fifty-six homicides, the majority involving the use of guns.
