On July 4, Trump hailed the “big, beautiful bill,” asserting it would enhance economic growth and financial stability. However, an analysis reveals adverse impacts on low-income communities and minorities. As a legal expert focused on tax disparities, I contend the law exacerbates wealth inequalities through extensive tax reductions that favor affluent families at the expense of low- and middle-income citizens. The racial wealth divide remains glaring, with White families’ median wealth significantly surpassing that of Black families. This new legislation further entrenches these disparities through sweeping tax cuts, resulting in limited benefits for those in need. Additionally, initiatives such as “Trump Accounts” appear beneficial but disproportionately favor affluent families, while new community engagement requirements for Medicaid threaten essential support for vulnerable populations, solidifying a troubling trend: wealth concentration at the top.
