This biopic, produced by Death Row Pictures, aims to serve as the ultimate portrayal of the music powerhouse and cultural icon. Ahead of the 2025 BET Music Awards on June 9, it was announced that Johnathan Daviss, known for his role in “Outer Banks,” will embody the West Coast rapper. Remarkably, this only adds to the legacy—Jarrett Ellis and LaKeith Stanfield previously portrayed Snoop in 2017's “All Eyez on Me” and 2014's “Straight Outta Compton,” respectively. Snoop received the Ultimate Icon Award, attending the event with his wife, Shante Broadus, and their daughter, Cori. While many fans celebrated Daviss' casting, his son, Julian Broadus, expressed his displeasure through Instagram Stories. Voicing his frustrations, Julian lamented being overlooked despite his familial ties, declaring, “real West Coast King stop playing with me."
