A 43-year-old man from Florida has been arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot teenagers for creating waves near his boat. Christopher Evensen now faces five charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and improper display of a dangerous weapon, stemming from a tense incident on October 4 along the Intracoastal Waterway in New Smyrna Beach.While navigating the waterway, Evensen confronted a group of youth, who were making waves, and reportedly pointed a handgun at them, issuing threats to shoot. Eyewitnesses confirmed that Evensen aimed the weapon at the juveniles while verbalizing his intentions, according to a Facebook post by the New Smyrna Beach Police Department. One witness recounted Evensen’s aggressive remarks about meeting the kids at the boat ramp.When located at home, Evensen acknowledged confronting the teenagers but initially denied possessing a firearm.
