In Hendersonville, North Carolina, a Black motorist, frustrated by being frequently stopped, pulled into a parking lot after noticing a police car trailing him. This prompted him to question, “So I’m getting pulled over for pulling over?” on his TikTok account, @CrazyWorldRight, where the video garnered around 78,000 likes and nearly 5,000 comments. The officer characterized the driver's actions as “suspicious.”
The motorist explained, “It’s easier than having them find a reason to pull me over.” He later quipped, “If being suspicious is a crime, I guess I committed a crime.” While suspicion isn't a crime, the Fourth Amendment allows some police discretion. Notably, the driver left without a ticket, commenting, “It’s life, you know.”
