A father-son bonding moment at a Phillies-Marlins game took a turn for the worse when a woman, soon labeled “Phillies Karen,” confronted the dad over a home run ball he had just secured for his son, Lincoln. This now-infamous incident quickly went viral, sparking widespread criticism towards the woman.
On September 5, Phillies center fielder Harrison Bader hit a home run that landed near Drew Feltwell and his son at LoanDepot Park in Miami. After Feltwell retrieved the ball, the woman aggressively demanded it back, claiming it belonged to her. As she physically approached Feltwell, the crowd erupted in boos and chants of “Karen!”
After reluctantly returning the ball, the contentious woman was further heckled by the audience. Following the game, Feltwell recounted how he chose to de-escalate the situation for his son’s sake. In the end, despite losing the ball, the family received gifts from the Marlins, including a signed bat from Bader. The unidentified woman, still stirring controversy, was offered $5,000 for the ball with a condition for an apology inscribed on it.
