Nashville, TN — The India Association of Nashville (IAN) is excited to announce its annual India Day celebration on Saturday, August 9, from 10:30 AM to 3 PM at Nashville Public Square Park. In honor of the dynamic Indian American community, Mayor Freddie O’Connell has designated August 9 as India Cultural Heritage Day, celebrating the rich culture and significant contributions of Indian residents in the area. Attendees can look forward to a lively parade along Deaderick Street (between 3rd and 6th Avenue), accompanied by live musical performances, both traditional and modern dance displays, Indian food trucks, and local vendors showcasing authentic cuisine, garments, and crafts. This festive occasion is free and welcomes everyone. “We invite all of Nashville to immerse themselves in the beauty, culture, and flavors of India,” stated Bhavi Turakhia Bendre, Vice President of IAN. “It’s a great chance to come together and celebrate the unity and diversity of India — what we proudly call ONE INDIA.” This event offers an afternoon rich in cultural exchange, making it a standout summer experience for families, friends, and community members alike.
