The 7th annual Indiana Water Summit, hosted on Aug. 20-21 by the White River Alliance, brought together experts and community leaders to discuss crucial topics on water sustainability, policy and management.& &
“As far as we know, the Indiana Water Summit is the only event statewide that includes everyone,” said Bill Blomquist, staff member at the White River Alliance and organizer of the summit.&
The summit’s topics of discussion vary each year. This year, the topics centered around gathering more data on Indiana’s water supply, water quality and the future of water and waste utility companies.&
Being able to measure the water levels and gather data on Indiana’s water supply is a vital resource for organizations, according to Blomquist. Understanding where the water supplies are and the quality of those supplies provides information needed for public health, wildlife, vegetation and the economy.&

“We do have some places in Indiana where we know what the water supply is, but we have even more that we don’t know enough about,” Blomquist said.&
