On Oct. 11, the Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development (DMD) released a request for proposal for three potential redevelopments on the former Central State Hospital campus. The properties for possible redevelopment are: “Powerhouse” at 3000 W. Washington St. “Storehouse” at 3302 Kirkbride Way “IMPD Mounted Patrol” at 77 N. Tibbs Ave. The requests for proposals are not redevelopment plans; they are a first step toward redevelopment and open the floor to developers to submit proposals, which are then reviewed and selected based on a variety of factors, including: Community stakeholder support for the proposed development. Economic feasibility and overall viability of the proposed development. Capability and experience of the project and development team. All proposals received in accordance with the submission instructions will be reviewed by a committee of city staff and stakeholders, who will conduct interviews and make recommendations to be considered in negotiations.
