After receiving an $80 million Lilly Endowment in 2023, Indy Parks plans to upgrade 58 local parks. Now, Indy Parks is giving the community a chance to shape what the plans look like.& &
Indy Parks is hosting six Community Open House events and one special event where community members can offer input on what they think the parks could use.& &
Each open house will showcase the current plans, while asking the community to suggest modifications as they visit.& &
Current plans span from upgrades to walkways and installation of pickleball courts to a splash pond and more.& &
“By expanding and improving our park system, we are creating more opportunities for residents to engage in healthy activities and build relationships with their neighbors,” Mayor Joe Hogsett said in a statement in the 2023 comprehensive master plan update.& &
Many public meetings were held recently at various parks from June 11-13.& &
