The InnoPower Minority Business Week will kick off with a celebration from 5:30 – 8 p.m. on Aug. 26 at Maven Space in downtown Indianapolis. The event will honor the 103 Black-owned businesses that completed the 2023-24 Indy Biz Pass initiative and welcome a new cohort of 100 businesses for the upcoming year.
The Indy Biz Pass program, funded by the Indianapolis African American Quality of Life Initiative (IAAQLI), provides Black entrepreneurs with access to co-working spaces at Maven Space, P30 and Speakeasy. The initiative aims to support small, Black-owned businesses with less than $100,000 in revenue, focusing on sole proprietors in their first three years of operation.
Robert Shegog, president and CEO of the Recorder Media Group, will be present to celebrate the achievements of Black-owned businesses. His leadership in the Black community and his commitment to supporting entrepreneurship make him a valuable asset to the InnoPower initiative.
Tiffany Dearman will be in attendance to offer her expertise in business growth and development. As a leading realtor and founder of X Factor Coaching, she brings a wealth of experience in scaling businesses and empowering entrepreneurs.
