Indiana Repertory Theatre’s resident playwright, Jessica Huang, plans to reimagine H.G. Wells’ seminal work “The War of the Worlds” throughout her three-year tenure. This endeavor will kick off in May during The New Harmony Project's 2025 Writers' Residency and culminate in a public reading during the 2026-2027 season.Huang seeks to investigate the interplay of individuality and community amidst universal challenges, striving for an interpretation that is both exhilarating and uplifting. Concurrently, she collaborates with Lena Dunham on a musical adaptation of “10 Things I Hate About You,” and her play “Mother of Exiles” will debut at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in the 2025-2026 season.
