Alongside Al Sharif, correspondent Mohammed Qreiqeh, camera operators Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal, and Moamen Aliwa, as well as freelance journalist Mohammad al-Khaldi, were victims of this deadly action. Al Jazeera strongly condemned these killings, labeling them as targeted assassinations aimed at undermining press freedom. The Israeli forces admitted to deliberately targeting the location where these journalists were stationed near Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza. This incident exacerbates the devastating impacts of the Israeli offensive, resulting in civilian casualties and community devastation.
