Miami Officer Claims That He Accidentally Shot Black Man While Directing Traffic

Family members allege that a Miami police officer unjustly shot 21-year-old Menelek Clarke during a Memorial Day weekend music festival, igniting panic among festival attendees. The incident occurred on May 25 during the Best of the Best Concert at Bayfront Park. Clarke believed he faced a life-threatening situation after an officer fired into his vehicle at an intersection.Viral footage captures an officer atop a moving BMW, discharging his weapon three times. Following the shots, Clarke exited his car, raised his hands, and collapsed. He was seen bleeding when additional officers detained him. Clarke's sister indicated they were searching for parking when the encounter ensued, stating the officer directed them and ultimately shot into the vehicle.Currently hospitalized with multiple injuries, Clarke is in stable condition. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.
