A prominent NYPD protester who posted $10,000 bail and faced relentless media scrutiny was ultimately vindicated, as recent video evidence confirmed his innocence.
Terrell Harper, age 42, was charged with attempting to invade a Brooklyn police officer’s residence during a demonstration on September 23, 2024. However, after examining footage from the event, prosecutors dropped all charges against him on May 23, 2025.
Known as "Relly Rebel," Harper expressed relief, stating, “It was all lies.” The protests commenced on September 22, following a subway incident involving police and a knife-wielding suspect that injured bystanders. During the protest, tensions escalated, leading to allegations against Harper, which have now been thoroughly dismissed.
With advocacy for reform emerging, Harper remains determined to continue his activism despite these recent challenges.
