James and Cilpa Sparkle in Thrilling Hybrid Chess Tournament Clash

The Saint Lucia Chess Federation proudly announces a significant victory as Justin James and D’Yorni Cilpa clinched the top two positions in the XXI IRT Hybrid of the South Sub-2200 Tournament, held on April 26-27. Competing against 30 challengers from the Americas, James achieved a commendable rating of 1830, reflecting a remarkable 67-point increase. Cilpa, the current National Secondary Schools Champion from St. Mary’s College, improved his rating to 1737. Also deserving recognition are Chelsea Wahid, Jamari Joseph, and Vernesa James for their impressive performances representing Saint Lucia.
