Vice President of Advertising Sale ad space and manage ad material James C. Belt III is the Vice President of Advertising and Marketing at The Dallas Examiner. He is the grandson of the founder, Attorney Frederick Finch, and the son of the owner and publisher, Mollie Belt. He graduated Kimball High School in 1989, then attended classes at Texas Southern University and Dillard University. He began working at The Dallas Examiner as a distributor in 1995. Two years later, he became a sales representative for the newspaper. In 2005, he was named Vice President of Advertising. As VP, he took over the sale of advertising space for The Dallas Examiner print edition, digital platforms and special supplement publications. For 15 years consecutive years, the College Guide: Putting the Pieces Together has been his most successful marketing strategy. As the newspaper has transformed to a more multi-media format, which called for a more multi-marketing strategy, his position expanded to Vice President of Marketing and Advertising. In hhis position, he has sold and placed ads in Black-owned and -operated newspapers across the state of Texas for state agencies and candidates running for elected office.
