Because the joy is gone. Based on the post-mortem of the 2024 election ass-kicking the Democrats experienced, there seems to be plenty of blame to go around. Pelosi blamed Joe Biden for not getting out sooner. And I’m sure she is joined by a chorus of other Democrats who feel the same. But this isn’t exactly a feather in Kamala Harris’ cap, as I wrote: Pelosi said Democrats might have fared better in Tuesday’s election if President Joe Biden had exited the race sooner. And the reason why could be considered both racist and sexist, since Pelosi told the New York Times that “had the president gotten out sooner, there may have been other candidates in the race”. What?! Is she saying the Kamala Harris wasn’t the best candidate? Consider for a moment that one of the most powerful politicians in Washington just said that neither the sitting President or Vice President was good enough to be the Democrats’ candidate.
