Outrage Over Judge Steven Boyce's Lenient Sentence for Ex-Baseball Star Candon Dahle in Underage Rape Case

Former baseball player Candon Dahle has recently received a surprisingly lenient sentence despite being accused of sexually assaulting a minor for five years. The situation is undeniably troubling; however, he is facing some accountability for his actions. It’s particularly shocking to see that a former athletic role model could be implicated in such a serious crime off the field.
Nationwide outrage has emerged directed toward Idaho Judge Steven Boyce, who imposed a sentence on the 22-year-old Dahle after he pleaded guilty to reduced felony charges related to lewd conduct with a child. Earlier this year, Dahle admitted his guilt to two charges of felony injury to a child as part of a plea agreement, which resulted in the dismissal of more severe charges.
His victim, now 15, disclosed that Dahle abused her from age 7 to 12. Ultimately, Judge Boyce sentenced him to a minimum of five and a maximum of ten years, yet suspended the jail time in favor of eight years of probation, without requiring sex offender registration.
