Juneteenth Unity Weekend 2024: Health panel, Congresswoman Crockett and festival

(Special to The Dallas Examiner) – More than 20,000 people from across the nation and internationally are slated to attend the 2024 Juneteenth Unity Weekend Celebration, which was created to celebrate the brilliance and culture of Black people. An idea birthed by community leader, business executive and activist, the late Kirk Myers-Hill, the Juneteenth Unity Weekend Celebration is the official annual celebration for Black communities to come together and celebrate their contributions to both American and Black culture, liberation and community. CEO Tamara Stephney and COO Ahmad Goree are continuing that legacy. Dallas Southern Pride and Abounding Prosperity Inc. will host a Health Impact Panel Discussion Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, located at 1015 Elm St. The discussion is designed to strengthen conversations regarding increase access to quality comprehensive health care for Black men who have sex with men and increase the knowledge and visibility of health inequities that affect Black MSM in Dallas to drive initiatives responsive to those needs.
