Kemp Approves New Legislation to Boost Workforce Development

ATLANTA – During a leadership summit hosted by the Technical College System of Georgia, Governor Brian Kemp enacted three pivotal workforce development bills on Monday. “Georgia, recognized as the premier business state, has experienced record job growth and investments,” Kemp noted. The General Assembly passed these bills with notable ease. House Bill 217 extends a pilot for technical college students to earn a high-school diploma over ten years. Senate Bill 180 expands funding opportunities for apprenticeship sponsors, while Senate Bill 193 creates a high school diploma program for adults aged 21 to 40.
