A royal welcome unfolded as the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA) honored the presence of the Saint Lucia Kings players and coaches on Thursday, prior to their home segment of the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground.
Traditionally, the SLTA organizes a cocktail reception to greet the Kings, showcasing iconic Saint Lucian hospitality. This initiative aligns with the SLTA’s strategy to blend sports with tourism. The team’s name and uniforms notably feature the brand of Saint Lucia.
This year’s event highlighted a cruise offering stunning views of the northern beaches, departing from IGY Rodney Bay Marina, where players enjoyed delightful local dishes and music against picturesque sunsets.
The Kings returned proudly crowned as CPL Champions for the first time, an achievement celebrated by Minister for Youth Development and Sports, Kenson Casimir. Newly appointed captain David Wiese conveyed heartfelt appreciation, acknowledging the robust support from the SLTA and local community.
Louis Lewis, CEO of the SLTA, welcomed the team, wishing them luck for the new season ahead.
