Kings Announce Groundbreaking Jersey Patch Partnership

By Mark Haynes | OBSERVER Correspondent The Sacramento Kings announced a new, multiyear jersey patch partnership with Reviver on Thursday morning. The Reviver logo will be located on the left front strap of the Kings’ jersey. The collaboration will mark the first time an African-American-founded technology company has partnered with an NBA team in such a capacity. Reviver is the creator of the world’s first digital license plate. The company has the backing of the Black Star Fund, a Sacramento-based venture capital firm led by Black professionals. The OBSERVER spoke with Reviver’s founder, Neville Boston, exclusively before the big announcement. He said he believes the partnership is a game-changer for African Americans and people of color.“We believe this will make us a billion-dollar company, and by doing that, I believe it will help springboard other companies in a position to do the same,” Boston told The OBSERVER. “I’m OK with being the first, but I’m not OK with being the only. I want to make sure this is a ladder to bring other companies with us.”The partnership officially begins on opening night at the Golden 1 Center.
