How a Kratom Ban Could Undermine Justice in Louisiana While Failing to Ensure Public Safety

In the courtroom, obscurity undermines justice. When lawmakers enact ambiguous and broadly-defined laws, they create confusion and compromise the integrity of the judicial system. Vaguely constructed statutes compel judges to infer legislative intent, resulting in erratic applications of the law.
