Kyren Lacy, a former LSU wide receiver, tragically passed away in April, reportedly by suicide, just days prior to a grand jury convening to discuss a fatal vehicle incident from December. Recently, Lacy's attorney has unveiled new evidence they claim demonstrates the young athlete's innocence. At the time of his death, the 24-year-old NFL hopeful was facing felony charges stemming from a December 17 accident that resulted in the death of 78-year-old retired Marine, Herman Hall. Lacy faced serious accusations including reckless operation of a vehicle, felony hit-and-run, and negligent homicide, as it was alleged he fled the scene without rendering aid or alerting authorities. As reported by ABC affiliate WBRZ, the Louisiana State Police indicated that Lacy had "recklessly passed numerous vehicles at a high rate of speed," which allegedly led to the fatal collision. On October 3, defense attorney Matt Ory appeared on HTV 10 to reveal additional insights into the incident and challenge claims linking Lacy to the crash.
