Commencing August 3, 2020, all Sheriff Sales of real estate in Allegheny County will transition to a virtual format via video conferencing or live streaming. Participants or bidders must register by at least seven days prior to the sale date through the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office website: sheriffalleghenycounty.com. Successful bidders must settle the full bid amount using cash, certified, or cashier’s checks during the sale; failure to comply will result in the property's resale at subsequent Sheriff Sales. If purchased on August 4, 2025, a 10% cash, certified, or cashier’s check deposit is required the following day with the balance due by August 11, 2025. Unpaid deposits lead to prohibition from future Sheriff Sales. Additionally, the Sheriff will file deeds for properties acquired at tax sales and notify relevant taxing bodies within seven days. All required recording fees and transfer taxes must be paid at the time of sale.
